(KL Report) Due to location issues etc, the Cantonese version of Snow.Wolf.Lake skipped its show in Malaysia 8 years ago. 8 years later, on 25th November, Snow.Wolf.Lake finally arrived in Malaysia.

Although it was in Mandarin this time round, the performers' excellent performance vividly brought out the happiness & sorrow of the characters in the show, & grasped the hearts of the audience, despite the change in language.

The audience's applause accompanied every climax of the show, each time louder than the one before. In this night, the almost 6000-strong audience came to Bukit Putrajaya Indoor Stadium to watch Jacky's musical, Snow.Wolf.Lake.

The audience had already rewarded the performers with 3 bouts of applause as the music started. The huge stage & beautiful setting appeared authentic & grand under the spotlights. Although part of the audience who were seated far away from the stage, could not see the performers' facial expressions clearly, they felt their emotions through their body language & singing.

Body Language Touches Audience

Jacky's live singing was undoubtedly great, his singing was so clear that the audience didn't have to read the lyrics on both sides of the stage, in order to understand what he was singing about.

Jacky's performance from the first time he met Evonne, falling in love, suffering in prison & the pain of losing his loved one, really expressed Wolf's endless love for Snow. The scene of Jacky hugging Evonne & singing "Hugging Snow" especially touched the audience.

Due to her ballet background, Evonne put on a natural performance, acting with Jacky. Her beautiful dancing, brought the innocent character of Snow to life. Nadia, who acted as Pheonix who was secretly in love with Wolf, wasn't really that spectacular. Her singing was not on par with Evonne.

Many of the audience would have come in support of Jacky. However, after watching the performance, besides being "satisfied", one also has a better understanding of musicals. This high standard performance also gave one a feeling that the ticket price was definitely worth it.

Bitter-Sweet Love

Snow.Wolf.Lake can be said to be a bitter-sweet love story.

Wolf, a gardener, falls in love with a rich girl, Snow. The baddie Liang Zi, who is madly in love with Snow, makes up a plot to send Wolf to prison, & lied to Snow that Wolf was already dead. The devastated Snow left for Vienna & married Liang Zi. Suffering in prison, Wolf picks up the courage to live on, upon receiving advice from the Old Wolf Spirit.

After leaving the prison, Wolf goes back home & is grateful when he realises that Pheonix has been helping him look after his flowers. When Wolf knows that Snow is having a hard time in Vienna, he rushes there to find her & they meet on the streets. Snow, who always thought that Wolf was already dead, goes home & quarrels with Liang Zi. She is unfortunately shot & dies.

Wolf begs for the Old Wolf Spirit to bring him back to the moment before Snow dies. He carries Snow into the lake. Both of them are forever floating in the eternity of time. This lake was later known as "Snow Wolf Lake".

Jay Chou Secretly Watches the Performance

Jay, who had just finished his Malaysian gig, stayed on to film some commercials. In order not to attract attention, he chose to enter awhile after the performance started & sat at a VVIP seat.

Jay was wearing a cap & a jacket. When the 1st half of the show was about to end, some co-workers accompanied him to the backstage. Perhaps he felt that his presence was exposed, as he didn't turn up for the 2nd half of the show.

Expensive Ticket Prices Do Not Deter Crowds

Watching Snow.Wofl.Lake is much more expensive than watching normal concerts. The cheapest ticket price is RM140, the most expensive is RM690. Almost every corner of this stadium, that can only hold 6000 people, was packed with crowds. Even the most expensive seats were about 90% occupied.

The total number of co-workers involved were about 230. As the stage props & lightings were plentiful, they used a total of 34 big cases to transport all these important stuff.

Jacky had earlier already announced that after the 7th January 2006 show, he will officially retire from the Snow.Wolf.Lake performance. So as to say, these 2 performances in Malaysia are the 1st & also the last.
