Jacky Hurt By Eason's Tennis Shot

Jacky Cheung & Eason Chan were respectively paired off with the women's double tennis champions of Olympics 2004, Li Ting & Sun Tian Tian, for a tennis game. Although Jacky got hit on his neck by Eason's shot, his side won with a 6-2 score. Jacky paired off with Li Ting, while Eason paired off with Sun Tian Tian, for the "Tung Wah Charity Celebrity Cup" match, which raised funds of about HK$950,000. Jacky, a tennis lover, was praised by the audience for his performance. He & Li Ting played well together, leading the game with a 4-0 score. Eason's performance was not as good, he either faulted on his serves or hit the balls out of the court. He was full of expressions & did all he could to hit the ball, creating much entertainment to the game. Eason & Sun Tian Tian tried very hard to catch up in the game. Eason hit one ball very hard towards Jacky & hit him on the right side of his neck, causing a red patch & Jacky yelled in pain.

Jacky felt that this was his worst play so far, "I usually play quite well, so I'm not satisfied with my performance today, it's only 40-50% of my usual performance. After getting hit by the ball, my standard immediately dropped as I was scared of getting hit again. Usually, I will be able to avoid the ball. If I had known earlier, I would have hit it back to him."

Jacky admitted that he feels pressurized being paired off with a professional in an official match, especially since he is not used to having an audience. When asked whether he will consider going into professional tennis, Jacky said "Are you kidding? It'll be so embarassing if I play badly." When asked why he doesn't feel scared when singing in front of thousands, he said "It's different. You can't see whether I'm scared on stage. But you can see it when I'm playing tennis."

Jacky used to play tennis with Eason, he praised Eason's tennis skills. But after knowing that Eason had represented his school while studying in England, Jacky joked "Then his school results must be poor."
